Physica Medica accepts insurance from six networks, takes cash-pay patients, and offers payment plans. If you're trying to figure out whether you can afford this before booking — that's exactly what this page is for.
We accept plans from six major insurance networks. Coverage varies by plan, so your out-of-pocket cost depends on your specific deductible, copay, and whether you've met your annual out-of-pocket maximum. We verify benefits before your first visit so you're not surprised at checkout.
Cash-pay rates are available for patients without insurance, those whose plans we don't accept, or anyone who prefers to pay directly rather than route through a carrier. Cash pay also means no prior authorization delays and no insurance-driven limits on session frequency.
One thing worth saying plainly: a 45–60 minute one-on-one session with a doctoral-level physical therapist is not the same service as a 20-minute mill appointment where you're handed off to a tech. The rate reflects what you're actually getting — a DPT's full attention for the full session.
Contact the clinic at 443-228-8029 for current cash-pay rates. We'll give you a straight number, not a range.

Max is a great PT. Very knowledgeable and thoughtful
Highly recommend!!
Will insurance pay for dry needling or cupping therapy? Dry needling coverage depends on your specific plan — some carriers cover it as part of PT, others don't. Cupping and IASTM are generally covered under manual therapy benefits when performed by a licensed PT. We verify all of this before your first session.
Cash-pay rates are available and competitive with what you'd pay after insurance copays at many chain clinics — with the difference being you're getting a full 45–60 minute session with a DPT, not a shared appointment. Call 443-228-8029 for current rates.
Yes. If the cost of a full course of care is a concern, ask about payment plan options when you call. We handle this on a case-by-case basis.
Chronic pain after an ACL repair is not the same problem as chronic pain after a desk-job decade. We treat them differently: different manual therapy emphasis, different movement re-education, different timelines. That tailoring is what fellowship-trained clinical reasoning enables. Protocol-driven PT is the opposite.
Physica Medica is located at 800 S Bond St, Baltimore, MD 21231 — in the Fells Point neighborhood, accessible from Canton, Harbor East, and Federal Hill. Street parking is available nearby.

If you have been through cookie-cutter PT before and want something that actually works, you are in the right place. If you have not, but you have been referred here by someone who has, we aim to confirm what they told you about this practice within the first ten minutes of your visit.
Three structural choices: 45–60 minute one-on-one sessions (not 15–20 in a shared room), the same fellowship-trained DPT every visit (no rotating staff, no techs), and a treatment plan built around your specific case (not a corporate protocol). The combination is what is different. Any one of those alone you can find. All three under one roof is what makes referred patients stay. Book a 30-minute screen and we will show you in person.
Every clinician on our team is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Dr. Maks holds the FAAOMPT fellowship (Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, held by under 1% of practicing PTs nationally), plus the OCS board certification and Wim Hof Method certification. Dr. Chen is SCS (Sports Clinical Specialist). Dr. Rodriguez is OCS and CLT (Certified Lymphedema Therapist). Emily is a PTA specializing in balance and falls prevention. Together that is an unusually deep credential stack for a single-location boutique practice.
Since 2012, fifteen years of practice at the same Fells Point address. We have treated several thousand patients across that period, with strong referral relationships across the Baltimore orthopaedic, surgical, and OB communities. See our Fells Point page for more on the neighborhood and clinic location.
